
Dr. Max has kicked off its acquisition project in Italy
Dr. Max is one of the largest European pharmacy chains. It is a market leader in Czech Republic and Slovakia and on of the largest chains in Poland. It manages 2.000 pharmacies and serves over 230.000 customers per day; in 2017 it has generated €1.2B turnover.
Dr. Max is part of Penta group, one of the largest investment fund in Central Europe (EEC); it is active in retail and healtcare; its turnover is around €5,6B and is mainly generated in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
Dr.Max has a long-standing history of growth and development both internally and externally and nowadays has 425 branches in Czech Republic, 260 in Slovakia, 435 in Poland, 110 in Serbia and 630 in Romania.
As part of the acquisition project active also in Italy and in line with the consolidation trend of European pharmacies market, Dr. Max has acquired Farmacia Nuova della D.ssa Fantoni Beatrice e del Dott. Lodovichi Andrea & C. S.n.c., headquartered in Pisa; Farmacia Del Vivo, headquartered in Poggibonsi; Farmacia dell’Ospedale di Lavagnini D.ssa Marta e C. S.a.s. headquartered in Pietrasanta.
Cavour has advised Dr.Max in searching and selecting the targets and in the negotiation. Other targets are under review.
