Cavour advised Nemo, the lighting division of Cassina

Poltrona Frau Group has sold the majority of Nemo, the Cassina lighting division, to Omikron Design, company specialized in architectural lighting, based in Milan and managed by Federico Palazzari.

According to the purchase agreement Omikron will acquire the 51% of the newco Nemo Design in which will be tranfered the business unit related to Nemo, including the 100% ownership of  the French Company Artelux S.A., NEMO distributor in France.

Nemo, founded by Cassina in 1993, produces and markets lighting equipment designed by leading designers and architects.

In recent years, Nemo has endeavored to reposition and strengthen its brand identity, enriching its collection thanks to partnerships with young designers and through the development of innovative solutions.

Currently Nemo products are distributed in over 30 countries and generated a turnover of around Euro 9 million in 2011.

This deal will allow Nemo to develop the contract sector and to strengthen the company’s position as one of the leading Italian industry operators in the world.
